Roy
& Jean Lowe
Roy
was a chartered Civil & Water Engineer before taking early
retirement in 1989. Having first started to play bridge whilst
working in West Bengal, India in 1957, he says he is still
learning. He is a 15* Premier Regional Master, but also likes
the cut and thrust of rubber bridge. When he and Jean play
together they use Precision Club but Jean says it ought to
be the Indian Club so that she can use it on him!
Jean
worked in the Tax Office for 15 years before starting a family.
When the children grew up she went back to work as a Wages Clerk
and retired early with Roy. She learnt bridge from a Penguin
book in 1971 and is now a National Master. Jean has always enjoyed
organising duplicate bridge events and became an EBU County
Tournament Director in 1991, and has kept up to date on revision
courses ever since. These days she spends more time directing
than playing. |
